Reading Pizza on my Mind

Do you have a favorite set of pizza toppings?

I change it up rather often, but if I was able to choose what I wanted from the standard set of toppings (leaving out non-typical choices like lobster and the like) here is what would be on my pizza:

  • Italian Sausage
  • Onions
  • Pineapple
  • Banana Peppers

Sure, I enjoy pepperoni as much as the next guy, but that is my set.

Pizza Hut is betting that they could have figured that out just by me using one of their new interactive tablet. It displays a set of ingredient pictures and using a camera that tracks what you are looking at, it senses the ingredients where your eyes linger. It then suggest a combination that it thinks you want from that lingering. Check out an article about it here.

This was a delicious way to clean out the freezer, refrigerator and pantry.

I had a few items left over from other recipes, so decided to use them all up on this recipe. I had some frozen pizza dough, pizza sauce, pre-cooked bacon, two links of chicken sausage, shredded mozzarella, banana pepper rings, red onion, oregano, basil and garlic powder.

I thawed out the dough and then rolled it out.

I decided to pan fry the meat and veggies just to get them cooked well.

Then I added the pizza sauce, toppings, cheese and spices. I baked it according to the pizza dough directions. I highly advise this clean-out pizza!

I like pineapples as toppings but I’m not really sure about the banana pepper rings. Never tried it :/
