The Ranting Reviewer does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufacturers or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.
I have another product from Trudeau for you today.
We are going to take a look at their Double Egg Poacher. I love poached eggs and making them with just a pot of water can be very tricky and something that even experienced chefs have problems with.
The Double Egg Poacher is a silicone based product that has two pockets for eggs and easy to grip handles. The lid is included for use in the microwave. Let’s give it a try.
Too many competing products are built for just a single egg. How often do you need just one poached egg? I usually will coat the Double Egg Poacher with a little oil to help the egg slip out at the end.
Fill a pot partially with water and bring it to a temperature short of boiling. Crack some eggs into the pockets and place the Double Egg Poacher into the pot.
Place the lid on the pot and give it a little time.
They are perfectly poached.
Here is one of the eggs on a hash of corned beef and Brussels sprouts.
Like any good poached egg when you break it open the wonderful yolk spreads everywhere.
My Take: This is a great tool for the kitchen. The key to allowing a new tool into my kitchen is that it must make a kitchen chore easier or do it better. The Double Egg Poacher does both. I can have the eggs poaching while I am concentrating on other things and it makes perfect poached eggs. I recommend it. You can find it online and at many stores. Take a look for it here.
