A Dino Sized Problem

Dinosaur hunters get excited when they find bones. That is to be expected. They get really excited when they find one to a species that they believe to be one that had not been discovered before. I can appreciate that. Because of this, the number of dinosaur species exploded. Three-horned little dinosaur – Triceratops. Really big three-horned dinosaur – TorosaurusSome, though, believe they are really the same species. One is just the adult version of the other. Read more about this issue here.

I think mushrooms suffer the same fate. In a previous post I explore how the exact same mushroom is called different things depending on its age and size. Button mushrooms is one of those.

Mushroom-Bacon Salad

It is even better than you think!

Mushroom-Bacon Salad

Prep Time: 0 hr 0 min | Cook Time: 0 minutes | Servings: 1 serving | Difficulty: 5

Ingredients:

1 pound button mushrooms
5 diced slices bacon
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tbsp chopped chives
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper

Directions:

Slice mushrooms with a mandoline. Cook bacon until crisp; add white wine vinegar and chopped chives, and olive oil. Toss with the mushrooms, and salt and pepper.
