The Ranting Reviewer does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufacturers or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.
In early March, I was able to attend the International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago and while there, met with the great folks at Box Appetit.
They provided me with one of their Ocean Blue Lunch Boxes to give it a try. So, I did.
First off, this is a box designed for adults. Created in a bento box style, this versatile box can be easily adapted for all kinds of lunches.
Made from BPA free polypropylene and copolyester, the various pieces easily remove for use and cleaning. Being microwave and dishwasher safe, this is indeed a lunchbox that is built for use.
Using all the pieces, you have a sauce cup where I have put my soy and sesame salad dressing. In the main compartment is my pasta salad and in the inner dish, I put some chow mien noodles that I wanted to keep crisp. This allows nothing to get soggy or overloaded with dressing and for my lunch to taste great.
It all fits neatly with a locking lid. The detachable fork is a handy addition.
When the lid is removed, there is a dipping circle which is great for condiments.
Have something bigger to take? Simply remove the inner dish and sauce pot and the whole lunch box can be used.
Crack the lid a bit and microwave. Don’t worry, it goes there too.
My Take: I really liked how the Box Appetit Adult Lunch Box worked. It was flexible, easy to use and easy to clean. Not a one-trick pony, it can adapt to whatever lunch you are looking to bring. Available in several colors, it can be purchased here.
Totally rad. I think my mom would love that. Now, if she can get someone to cook for her – snorts with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon
