The Ranting Reviewer does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufacturers or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.
I was recently at the International Home and Housewares show and found my way over to the Contigo Booth. Knowing they make some great bottles for hot and cold beverages, I wanted to see what was new.
One of their newer products is the Ashland Chill.
The Ashland Chill features Contigo‘s Autospout technology. With the push of a button, the spout comes up allowing you to get a drink. A lock allows you the confidence that an inadvertent push of the button while the bottle is in your bag or backpack just won’t open the spout. The placement of the button allows for easy one handed operation.
The silicone spout is comfortable for your mouth and connects to the straw inside. The spout easily folds back down keeping it clean when not in use.
The Ashland Chill is a stainless steel bottle both inside and out.
I took the top off to show you how the straw angles inside the bottle. This allows the bottom of the straw to be positioned to get you the last drops of liquid when you are drinking.
The Ashland Chill boasts that it will keep a drink cold for 18 hours. Let’s test out that claim.
I filled the bottle with ice water which measured 30.4 degrees (F).
18 hours later, 30.6 (F). I’d say it does the job.
My Take: I recommend taking a look at the Contigo Ashland Chill Water Bottle because it is a well constructed way to carry and drink your cold beverages. Their Autospout technology works well and the bottle fits most cup holders. While the top and detachable inside straw is dishwasher safe, they recommend hand washing the stainless steel body itself. Available in three colors you can purchase it here.
