The Ranting Chef does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufactures or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.
When I was at the International Housewares show, I stopped by the Solvetta booth to see what they were showing.
They had a great display of the FlatBox-LunchBox products. The FlatBox-LunchBox is an innovative lunch container made from neoprene (the same stuff they make wetsuits from). Neoprene is naturally heat-resistant, insulating and, best of all, machine washable.
Why is it important for a washable lunch sack? The first reason is that things spill. Many lunch containers are never properly cleaned and we continue to put food in them over and over. There is a second important reason which I’ll get to in a bit. The top of this lunch bag has four heavy-duty zippers.
Unzipping two of the zippers reveals my lunch inside (your lunch may vary).
When all four zippers are unzipped, the lunch bag turns instantly into a place mat. Whether this is used for your kids or yourself, many of the places we ear are horrendously dirty. Recent studies have found that the typical office desk is much dirtier than the bathroom. The FlatBox-LunchBox solves that issue by providing a nice sized place mat for your lunch that you can take home and throw in the washing machine.
The FlatBox-LunchBox comes in a variety of colors and a few sizes (one smaller and one larger than what you see here).
My Take: Some things just make sense. The FlatBox-LunchBox makes it really, really easy to be a little more germ free. If you pack a lunch (for you or for your kids), you have to have a container to take it in. Why not make it one that makes a cleaner surface for you to eat off of? The FlatBox-LunchBox is great for every day lunches as well as picnics and the beach. As a winner of the International Housewares Association Innovation Award, it is truly one of the great new products on the market. You can purchase the FlatBox-LunchBox here.
Oh, wow! That is awesome!
