I’ll admit that a number of the recipes I have on here are either complex or have a million ingredients (often spices and or fresh veggies). To add a little simplicity, I decided to go the other route and find a four ingredient dish that you would all love.
I pulled up Google in my browser and search for: 4 ingredient recipe. Over 55 million hits were returned. Wow! Kinda big. I added quotes to the front and back of the phrase and it still returned 108 thousand. I cannot say this is for sure the best of the bunch but it was delicious and easy!
4-Ingredient Pizza Bake
Cheesy…gooey…pizza. What’s not to love?
OK, there really was 5 ingredients but you could use water instead of milk and very few people call water an ingredient that you need to list!
Make the dough and spread it out as best as you can on the bottom of a baking dish.
Cover with sauce.
Add pepperoni and cheese.
Doesn’t that look awesome? I sprinkled some Italian seasoning on top (yes….a sixth ingredient…are you keeping tabs on me!??!?!?!?!?!!!).
Almost like a deep dish pizza right from your oven.

INGREDIENTS
- 2 pouches (7.5 oz each) Bisquick® Complete buttermilk biscuit mix
- 1 cup water
- 1 jar (14 oz) pizza sauce
- 1 package (8 oz) sliced pepperoni
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
DIRECTIONS
1 Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 13×9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix and water until soft dough forms. Drop half of dough by spoonfuls evenly in bottom of baking dish (dough will not completely cover bottom of dish).
2 Drizzle about 1 cup pizza sauce over dough. Arrange 1/2 of the pepperoni slices evenly over sauce. Top with 1 cup of the cheese. Repeat layers with remaining dough, pizza sauce, pepperoni and cheese.
3 Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares to serve.

What recipes did you find with four ingredients that didn’t come out of a package? How many ingredients were listed in your packaged foods (and how many chemicals?)? And yes, it does look delicious :).

I’m sure there were plenty. I’m working my way through them…. 😉

This looks like the perfect recipe to teach child number 2, who escaped the house without really learning how to cook much. He had two phases – gone and asleep! When he comes over now, I try to corral him to cook something with me, then we print out the recipe if he likes it so he can make it at his place.

You’re veering into Bisquick Impossible Pie territory there! That looks like regular ol’ Bisquick—how many cups does the 2 packets equal?
