The Ranting Chef does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufactures or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.
The great folks at Cookina and Colman’s Mustard have joined together to help us home Grillmasters to make the summer a great one. As part of that, they sent me there Cookina Barbecue Reusable Grilling Sheet and some Colman’s Mustard (both wet and dry).
Cookina is the manufacturer of all sorts of non-stick sheets used in cooling (grilling, baking, oven liners, etc..) and Colman’s is THE mustard in England. For those of us in the US, we have the ever-present French’s mustard, the English have Colman’s.
In honor of these great products, I am actually going to give you four posts. The first (this one) will show off the Cookina sheet. Later this week I have three great recipes that I grill using Colman’s Mustard.
I had an opportunity to take a look at the Cookina Sheet while at the International Housewares Show in Chicago and was very interested.
This gives you an idea of the size. The sheet is sturdy, flexible and most importantly, non-stick. The sheet is designed to take temperatures up to 500 degrees, so it should serve any grilling needs.
I decided to take the sheet for a spin with some asparagus. Without the sheet, I’d have to skewer them or else they’d follow through. In addition, I could put some soy sauce and sesame oil to help flavor the asparagus as it cooked. It was easy, as was clean-up.
Here is my whole Cookina and Colman’s Mustard dinner. Look for the other recipes later this week!
My Take: I would not have thought to put a cooking sheet on my grill top, but glad that Cookina thought of it. Grilling smaller veggies was always a pain and many options just don’t work well. The reusable sheet takes all of those problems away. I don’t have to worry about anything falling through, it allows me to add marinade when I’m grilling, flare-ups are not an issue and it only takes a wipe-down to clean. What’s not to love? Check it out!
