A box from the Harold Import Company!
What did I find?
This baking bowl is perfectly designed to melt chocolate. It can be used in the microwave or used as a double boiler. I was most interested in trying it out as a double boiler.
Rose kept a close eye on me while I was giving it a try. Her smile never wavered, and mine didn’t either.
The bowl fit several of my pots. As there is some depth to it, you want to be sure there is room for enough water to be in the pot without coming in direct contact with the bottom of the bowl. The steam and radiant heat would do the heavy lifting of melting the chocolate. The wide lip allows the bowl to sit atop the edge of the pot. I pulled it back some here so you can see.
The chocolate is melting. I like to stir the chocolate constantly while it is melting.
Nice and smooth. The bowl worked perfectly. The chocolate easily melted and did not stick to the bowl during the process.
When you pull it away from the pot, it is cooler to the touch than a glass or metal boiler.
The bowl collapses for easy storage and can be used for more than a double boiler. It is good for use in the oven and great for making a dome shaped cake.
My Take: This is a great solution from Harold Import Company. Rose’s Silicone Baking Bowl is both a multi-purpose bowl and easy to store. It worked perfectly to melt chocolate and I loved that it stayed a lot cooler than other alternatives. It hold six cups of liquid and is dishwasher safe, so it is easy to clean. You can find this bowl a number of places. Check out the locations here.
The versatility sounds great. What I like most about silicone bakeware is the feel of the rubbery material. It’s all about aesthetics, right? 🙂 I must say, though, that I don’t own any silicone stuff yet.

This is what I have been looking for. We melt a lot of Beeswax and lose a lot with the the pans we use. I could now save the 1/2 cup to a cup of dried hard beeswax. Thank you for ranting:)
