Product Review: Primula Flavor It Beverage System

The Ranting Chef does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufactures or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.

Inside I found the Flavor It Beverage System from Primula.

The Flavor It Beverage System contains a sturdy, but lightweight plastic pitcher with three different cores you can put in the middle. The first is an “ice” core. Similar to cooler packs, you place it in your freezer for a couple of hours and when you remove it, it is ice cold. It then goes into the middle of the pitcher and helps keep the beverage cold without, and here is the key part, diluting it as regular ice would. It is perfect for bringing the pitcher to the table, out on the deck or even to the pool and keeping the beverage cold.

The second core is meant for infusions. It is a plastic tube with many open slits cut into it. You fill the core with whatever flavor you want to impart to your beverage. Add lemon or raspberry to your tea? Done. Flavored water with real fruit (instead of that artificial flavoring)? Easy as pie. Here I had some oranges and lemons.

The core slides into the pitcher and the flavor starts to permeate the water. I left it in the fridge overnight before I tried it out. One sip and you can taste the notes of the fruit. Delicious!

Fancy cucumber water that they serve in day spas? Two quarters of a cucumber cut lengthwise fits perfectly in the core and the water tastes so refreshing!

The third core is for making tea. I filled the smaller tea infuser and placed it in the pitcher.

I left it in the fridge overnight and the clear water turned into tea!

My next batch will sit by the window and get natural sunlight to make sun tea.

My Take: I have seen the three different uses in various other products but who had room to store three different pitchers for each use? I love that Primula has combined all three in their Flavor It Beverage System. I can very easily see me making some tea, infusing it with lemon or raspberry (or both) and then using the ice core when I take it outside to serve a refreshing drink to guests enjoying the nice weather. So easy to use and inventive. You can purchase the Flavor It Beverage System online or at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Grab one. You won’t regret it.

Three inserts include a fine mesh tea infuser, a flavor infuser basket and a freezable chill core for a good all-around assortment that works great. The Flavor It Pitcher is a dishwasher safe pitcher that has the handle as part of the screw on top of the pitcher that the cover also screws into.
