Crazy….Crazy Good

Some people are just crazy.

As readers of the blog know, I am a parent of two teenage boys. When my wife and I were engaged, we envisioned that we would have three children. As she was pregnant with the first and then the second, it felt right for us to stop at two. I’m not sure what changed, but it worked for both of us. If we would have ended up with another, or even a couple more, I think we would have been fine. I’d heard somewhere that once you go from two kids to three you can no longer play man-to-man defense and have to start playing zone.

Some families go beyond four. While this was much more popular years ago there are still some families out there that have five, six or even seven children. Entering into the double digits, you’ve got to be a little crazy. To each their own, but it is a little out there.

Then there are the Duggars with 19 kids. I really try to not judge, but I don’t have much of an issue gawking. 19 kids. I cannot imagine how that house may be. More power to them. Even with 19 kids, they are not at the top of the list.

According to Wikipedia (enter your derisive comment here…) the winner of the “I want to populate my own small city” contest are Mr. and Mrs. Feodor Vassilyev of Russia. It is claimed they sired 69 children. It is supposed they had 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets.

OK. I’m going to judge. Crazy!
